2020 Hyundai Veloster Specs and Features
The Hyundai Veloster stormed onto the automotive scene with a unique spin and has evolved to provide a truly unique driving experience for those who are adventurous enough to climb behind the wheel. How many other cars can you think of that have three doors—two on one side, one on the other? That kind of asymmetry is just how the Hyundai Veloster rolls. As we head into 2020, we want to take a look at the 2020 Hyundai Veloster specs and features to see what’s new for this year.
Updates to the Veloster for the 2020 model year
While the 2020 Hyundai Veloster is largely a carryover from the 2019 model year, a few notable updates have been made. Cargo area tie-down hooks are now standard on all models. Wireless device charging is standard on the Turbo and Turbo Ultimate models, and the Blind-Spot Collision Warning with Rear Cross Traffic Warning feature is now standard on the Turbo R-Spec model. As for the design, the front grille, front and rear fascia accents and the side skirts are now a gloss black, which replaces the previous flat back.
Engines and performance
The standard engine on the 2020 Hyundai Veloster 2.0 and 2.0 Premium trims is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder capable of a peppy 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. The Veloster Turbo, Turbo R-Spec, and Turbo Ultimate offer up a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine that cranks out 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. If you really want to get the adrenaline pumping, the racing-inspired Veloster N Standard Package comes with a 250-horsepower engine, while the Veloster N Performance Package gives you 275 horsepower to command.
To keep you safe behind the wheel, the 2020 Veloster offers a number of different smart technology features. Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Lane Keeping Assist are standard, and other available safety systems include High Beam Assist and Driver Attention Warning.
Connectivity is also key in today’s world, and the Veloster delivers the goods. Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ are standard, so you can synchronize your compatible smartphone and use certain applications while on the road. SiriusXM® Radio is an available feature if you’re looking for more entertainment options, and all of this is within convenient reach thanks to the standard seven-inch color LCD screen. You can also go for the available floating-design eight-inch touchscreen navigation display to guide you on your treks.
