Hyundai at CES 2019
CES is a big show for all kinds of different companies. While car manufacturers from all over the world showcase some of their newest projects, it is also an important show for all kinds of new technology. Automakers take that to heart, often debuting new technologies and vehicle features. With plenty to discuss, we wanted to highlight what was shown from Hyundai at CES 2019.
A lot of Hyundai’s focus going into the CES 2019 show was to highlight their new electric vehicle technologies, along with connected car strategies and their vision of the future of mobility.
First and possibly the most intriguing part of the show was the all-new Hyundai Elevate Walking Car Concept. This car has both wheels and robotic legs which are used not only to drive, but to walk and even climb over very uneven and dangerous terrain as commonly seen caused by a natural disaster. This vehicle will be an extreme help to first responders.
Hyundai also showed off the world’s first Holographic Augmented Reality Navigation System, shown in the Genesis G80 at the show. This system was created in a collaboration between the Hyundai Motor Group and WayRay AG, a Swiss-based technology company.
Hyundai also displayed their “Style Set Free” vehicle design concept. This concept is based on new autonomous driving features, as well as allows drivers to further customize their driving experience to their own style.
