Hyundai Vehicles 2018 GOOD DESIGN Awards
Many vehicles today have been around for decades, and yet still remain to be some of the most popular models available. Outside of their power or convenient efficiency, what makes these vehicles stand out for so long is their impressive design. Hyundai puts a strong focus into designing their models, as three Hyundai vehicles won GOOD DESIGN Awards in 2018.
The GOOD DESIGN Awards were first introduced in Chicago in 1950 with the focus of honoring the industries best designers and manufacturers for their creativity, attention to form, function and aesthetics. For 2018, three Hyundai models received awards for their fantastic design, including the Kona, Santa Fe and Le Fil Rouge Concept vehicle.
The new Kona is still one of the manufacturer’s newest models and continues to innovate the segment, while the new Santa Fe takes over from the previous Santa Fe Sport model. The Le Fil Rouge Concept first made its debut at the 40th Annual Concours d’Elegance of America in Plymouth, Michigan, as it takes design cues from the Hyundai 1974 Coupe Concept.
“Hyundai is honored to be recognized by one of the world’s most preeminent programs for design excellence worldwide. The Kona, Santa Fe, and Le Fil Rouge Concept Car all meet a youthful expectation our customers have come to expect from Hyundai, each having their own unique character, and avoiding a ‘family look’ of similar designs where the only difference is size. Winning this award for the eighth consecutive year demonstrates our commitment to designing better vehicles in this dynamic automotive landscape.”
