2021 Hyundai Elantra: What’s New?
Hyundai has really changed up a lot on the 2021 Hyundai Elantra. It’s been redesigned from the ground up. With new looks, new features, new powertrains, and a new performance variant, there’s a lot to cover.
What are we waiting for?! Let’s dive right in. Here’s what’s new on the 2021 Hyundai Elantra.
There are many new features on the 2021 Hyundai Elantra. Starting in the cabin, an available 10.3-inch digital gauge display is placed right next to a 10.3-inch touchscreen. It has a crisp, clean look and allows for quick information acquisition with little eye movement. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay make their return, pairing nicely with the standard Wi-Fi hotspot. Standard safety features are expected to include automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist. The available adaptive cruise control will now also feature a lane-centering feature.
Hybrid and Performance Models
For the first time ever, the Elantra will have a Hybrid powertrain. It will have a 1.6-liter four cylinder paired to an electric motor that puts out 139 horsepower. While it has not yet been rated by the EPA, Hyundai is aiming for a combined rating of at least 50 MPG. The 2021 Elantra will also see an N Line variant. There are no official mechanical specs as of yet for the 2021 Elantra N. However, it may feature the same 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic found on the 2020 Hyundai Veloster N.
